The Pile
It started as one note. One phone call, ten minutes. Three weeks later it's a pile, and at night you call yourself lazy.
But lazy is the wrong word. Lazy people don't care. You do care. It just got too heavy.
The question to take with you
Which one is at the bottom of yours?
Read the full narration
There's a note on your desk. It's been there for three weeks.
It's nothing big. One phone call. Ten minutes, maybe. And still, every single day, you say the same thing.
But tomorrow, it's not the same note anymore. Tomorrow it's the note, plus the fact that you didn't do it yesterday. Or the day before.
At some point, you stop looking at it. You clean the kitchen. You sort your inbox. You're busy all day, just not with that.
And at night, you call yourself lazy. But lazy is the wrong word. Lazy people don't care. You do care. It just got too heavy.
So take a look at what's actually there. Not at the top. At the very bottom.
It's still that one note. One phone call. Ten minutes. Everything on top of it was never work. It was only the weight of waiting.
You don't have to move a mountain. You only have to finish the one note it started with. Which one is at the bottom of yours?
